Ingryd Academy’s Scholarship Program Empowers 1,000 Tech Professionals

Ingryd Academy induction ceremony

In a significant milestone, Ingryd Academy proudly welcomed its first-ever cohort of 1,000 participants into its transformative Scholarship Program. This ambitious initiative stands as a resolute response to the pressing tech talent shortage in Africa and strives to train an impressive 4,000 tech professionals annually. These eager participants are set to receive comprehensive training in high-demand and strategic niche technical skills such as Java, Linux, Cybersecurity, and Data Science.

Ingryd Academy envisions the induction ceremony as the commencement of an extraordinary journey for the selected candidates. Over the next three months, these individuals will immerse themselves in rigorous training and receive invaluable mentorship, equipping them with the knowledge and skills essential for success in the ever-evolving tech industry. This significant endeavor follows closely on the heels of the strategic partnership announcement with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF).

The Ingryd Scholarship Program seamlessly aligns with the academy’s overarching mission: to empower individuals with indispensable technical skills. Managing Director Khadijat Abdulkadir emphasized that, contrary to common misconceptions, job opportunities abound, but the key challenge lies in the shortage of qualified individuals to fill those roles. Ingryd is resolutely committed to bridging this gap by honing people’s abilities to excel in these job opportunities.

In partnership with LSETF, the program offers full scholarships to passionate tech enthusiasts in Lagos, Nigeria. The selection process is meticulously based on applicants’ fervor for technology and their test scores. Scholars can anticipate a comprehensive learning experience that includes hands-on training, career coaching, and robust job placement support. The inaugural cohort’s training begins both virtually and at Ingryd Academy’s state-of-the-art Lagos hubs on October 16, 2023.

This innovative initiative not only demonstrates Ingryd Academy’s commitment to addressing the tech talent shortage in Africa but also paves the way for a brighter future for aspiring tech professionals, ensuring they are well-equipped to make meaningful contributions to the tech industry.
